Aircraft Completion Centre

At Eurocopter Malaysia we have our own Aircraft Completion Centre dedicated to providing specific modifications and finishes to our customers’ helicopters ranging from customised colour coatings, to hand-finished leather interiors, we meet the needs of the most discerning clients.

Be it an understated paint scheme or a flying work of art, our highly-skilled aircraft painters will transform new, unpainted or pre-owned helicopters from concept to reality. This very popular facility has helped Eurocopter Malaysia customers create helicopters that are uniquely theirs.

We design for a variety of modifications, installations and retrofit which have to be certified, right from the air-conditioning systems, floats or hoists all the way to changing specific configurations. This in-house capability reduces time required and allows Eurocopter Malaysia to take full responsibility for any retrofit or upgrade.

On July 2011, Eurocopter Malaysia was awarded the Design Organization Approval (DOA) by the Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia

Many of the aviation advances in the last decade have been the direct result of the digital revolution and avionics. Staying abreast of these have been critical to ensure a nose to tail maintenance capability. We have certified aircraft engineers to keep all avionics systems in peak working condition and to diagnose and fix any issues quickly.

PILOT TRAINING FOR EC 225 / 725 EUROCOPTER MALAYSIA SIMULATION CENTER

The opening of the new Eurocopter Malaysia Simulation Centre (EMSC) in Subang is a milestone for our company. This newly-built simulation centre is Eurocopter’s 20th full-flight simulator (FFS) in the world and the first EC225/725 helicopter FFS in South-east Asia.

It has always been part of Eurocopter’s strategy to build a network of FFS across the globe. Such a move will enable us to meet the training needs of our customers quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively.

More importantly, with safety being the top priority for Eurocopter, the strategic location of our FFS will increase our customers’ focus on flight safety as we work with them to ensure and maintain the highest level of skills for their pilots and crews.

This state-of-the-art EMSC provides a wide range of training courses for the military, paramilitary and civil operators of the EC225/725 from across the South-east Asian and Pacific region.

With the opening of this EMSC, I look forward to a higher and closer level of cooperation with our operators even as we continue to strive for greater excellence and safety in Malaysia and in the region.

EC 225/725 FFS AND Facilities

Following the strategy from Eurocopter Group to implement Full Flight Simulators (FFS) worldwide closer to customer’s operation, Eurocopter Malaysia Simulation Centre (EMSC) has been selected to be the EC 225/725 simulator hub for the Asia-Pacific region.

The EC225/725 helicopter full-flight simulator arrived in Malaysia in September 2012, and is located at the Eurocopter Malaysia Simulation Centre – a brand new building erected at the Malayisan International Aerospace Centre of the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, known as Subnag airport. Catering to training of pilots and crews operating the EC225 and EC725, the full-flight will begin operations in January 2013.

The Eurocopter EC225/725 Full Flight Simulator is designed to meet the standards for a FFS Level B and a FTD Level 3. The training device will be qualified early January 2013 for training under both Malaysian Department of Civil Aviation (MDCA), European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and approved by the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). It will allow operators to perform ab initio and recurrent training as well as specific training covering emergency procedures, instrument flight rules (IFR), offshore and search and rescue (SAR) operations, night flight (night vision goggles), flights over mountainous regions and low altitude navigation.

EMSC’s utmost objective is a close cooperation with its customers to focus on flight safety, ensure and maintain the high skill level of pilots and crews.

Pilot Training Courses

The EC225/725 Full Flight Simulator will allow customers to perform following training:

  • Type rating and testing
  • Recurrent Training
  • Recurrent Emergency training (including autorotation)
  • Instrument rating, revalidation and renewal
  • LPC / OPC/ LOFT
  • Crew Resource Management training
  • Multi Crew Cooperation (MCC) training
  • Missions and operations training (SAR, Offshore, military, EMS…)
  • Nap of the earth training (NOE)
  • Night Vision Goggles (NVG)
